The learner’s anticipation of scholarship information for continuing education to a higher level is proving to be very high. This is evidenced by the number of visitors who always busy in every educational scholarship event held. Similarly, at the Indonesia International Education Fair (IIEF) 2018 held by the Indonesian Student Union (Dunia PPI-Dunia) in collaboration with Indonesia Global Education Network (IGEN) and Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) on Friday (9/3) ) at UMY Sportorium.
The event that brought the theme of Utilization of Human Resources Capacity succeeded in attracting the attention of Yogyakarta students to come and seek information about education funding aid. Recorded 9800 visitors attended and crowded dozens of booth University and Institution providers of scholarships. “The students’ enthusiasm to participate in this kind of event is very big, their spirit to dig up scholarship information to be able to get a higher education should be appreciated,” said Hilman Latief, S.Ag., MA Ph.D., as Vice Rector of UMY for Student Affairs, Alumni and AIK.
“I think there are many students who know little or no information about scholarships. Though there are many other institutions that provide funding for higher education. Starting from government agencies, independent institutions, to universities located within and outside the country. With this kind of expo I think it can broaden the students’ insight to increase the options in continuing education to a higher level, “explained Hilman when giving closing remarks to IIEF 2018.
Hilman conveyed that the enthusiasm of the students in following this kind of activity is a form of their consciousness as the successor of the nation. “As a successor to the nation, of course you have aspirations, and by taking the education you want is a right step to get you closer to your dream to build Indonesia into a better place,” he concluded.
