Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) keeps enhancing the internationalization to be one of the reputable university in Asia. In order to support the mission, UMY expand cooperation with various reputable foreign institutions that can support the development of education system at UMY.
One of the reputable partners is Flinders University of Adelaide, Australia. Both Universities has been engaged in cooperation for 5 years. Seeing the great opportunity for both universities, Flinders University initiated open discussion to discuss about renewal of cooperation between both universities on Monday (10/01)
Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc as the Vice Rector for International Affairs & Cooperation warmly welcomed the representation from Flinders University, Brett Wagne and also Prof. Noore Shiddiquee. The open discussion was also attended by Director Office of International Affairs, Yordan Guanawan and also by the Dean and The Head of  Departments from  faculties of UMY.
The open discussion was meant to find new cooperation opportunities not only in university scale but also in faculty scale. The open discussion was started with the airing of both universities profiles. Later, the discussion was opened and moderated by Yordan Gunawan. The discussion had the various results in student and staff mobility. Furthermore, the discussion brings solutions to some issues that have to deal during the cooperation, generated new innovations and fresh ideas and also new potential agreements to increase both universities cooperation.
