November 30th, Ambassador New Zealand to Indonesia, DR. he Trevor Matheson visit Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. He came to UMY also to give the public lecture to International Program students. International Program students from all the faculties participate this agenda at Amphitheater Graduate Program Building.
Dr. HE Trevor Matheson gave lecture about “Friends for Good, Strengthening Cooperation between New Zealand and Indonesia”. The public lecture also explain how Indonesia and New Zealand build 60 years old bilateral relation. Dr. Trevor said that the relation between each country will improve many opportunities like education, economics, and also politics.
Besides the good relation between New Zealand and Indonesia, Dr Trevor describe how New Zealand look like, the numerous culture of it, and various nature resource. All of them are New Zealand point attraction to attract foreigners to come and visit New Zealand, especially Indonesian.
Another gorgeous thing for IMaBs students and UMY students is the scholarship opportunity. New Zealand offers more than 60 scholarships over to the Indonesian students. The scholarship program is LPDP and others program. The public lecture also attended by Head of International Relation Office UMY. He said that UMY propose some collaboration with New Zealand to improve students and staff’s knowledge.
